Jog-a-thon

The Jog-a-Thon is our primary fundraiser for the year and is a fun day for all involved! This year's Jog-a-Thon is Friday, October 3, 2014 on the track in front of the school; several classes will run during each 30 minute segment (1 lap=1/8 mile). Students will ask friends and family to pledge money (a flat dollar amount or a certain amount per lap) before the run; afterwards, they will collect that money and return it to school. Our goal is for each student to collect at least $50. (This goes without saying but please do not allow your child to go door-to-door or ask strangers for pledges). The funds raised will go to the PSO operating budget, which funds classroom and student enrichment activities including all field trips, art literacy, teacher requests, and monthly family fun nights. Our students shine with pride knowing they take part earning money for our school. Students will be eligible to receive prizes based on their submitted donations, from Wildcat Cash for the book fair to class parties.  Wildcat Cash is play money that all students can earn based on how much money they collect for the CFT Jog-a-thon.  Wildcat Cash can be spent exclusively at the 2014 Winter Book Fair. Important Dates for 2014 Jog-a-thon September 19, 2014 Jog-a-thon kick-off assembly (envelopes sent home -- start gathering pledges) October 3, 2014 Jog-a-thon at CFT, rain or shine.  Wear comfortable clothes and shoes! October 20, 2014 Envelopes due back with pledge money. Week of Dec. 1st Wildcat Cash is sent home with students. Fundraisers

CFT PSO’s annual budget is funded exclusively through a series of fundraising ventures.  These include several annual events, like Jog-a-thon and Harvest Fest.  While others, like Scrip and Dining Night Out, continue throughout the entire year.

Other Fundraising Activities

The PSO will get credits to use toward free educational resources, playground equipment or art supplies.  We are currently looking for a parent volunteer to assist with organizing and sending in any received labels.  Please contacts Stephanie Leeper at cftpsopres@gmail.com if you are interested. E-labels for Education SHOP.  SWIPE.  EARN.  Each participating product that you purchase from your favorite participating retailer will earn 1 point that will be credited to your school’s Labels for Education account automatically.  Go to eLabelsForEducation.com.  Create your profile, enter your shopper card number from a participating retailer, and then select the school you would like to support.  Sign up now! eScrip Go to the eScrip website here.  Click on the Safeway link to register your Safeway card.  If you have done this in the past, you must renew by November 1st for Charles F. Dining Night Out

CFT and participating local restaurants sponsor a CFT Dining Night Out throughout the year.  Bring the family and the appropriate flyer on the given date and time and CFT PSO will receive a percentage of the profits! We are currently looking for a parent to volunteer for each month of the school year to organize one dining night out event per month.  If you are interested in volunteering, a sign-up sheet will be available at the first PSO meeting (September 12, 2014 at 12:45 p.m.).  You can also contact the CFT PSO Dining Night Out Coordinator, Suzanne Lewis (lewissuz@icloud.com).  Date Restaurant Location Flyer 10/29/13** Burgerville - Tigard 12785 SW Pacific Highway Coming Soon **Halloween Party -- 5 to 8 pm -- Dress in a costume and get a coupon for a small ice cream cone! 11/18/14 Pizzicato - Lake Oswego 15180 SW Bangy Road 3/10/14 Pizzicato - Lake Oswego 15180 SW Bangy Road 5/20/14 Burgerville - Tigard 12785 SW Pacific Highway Clcik Here Check back often for more restaurants and dates!

Scrip

The term "Scrip" is used to describe certificates that CFT PSO purchases at a discount and sells at face value for a profit. The discount ranges from 2% up to 45%. The Scrip certificates are actually store gift certificates and cost you nothing extra to buy. The Scrip is used at the store in place of cash, checks or credit cards.  Scrip is available for seven local grocery stores and over 100 local retailers and restaurants--most likely places you already shop or dine! The best thing about Scrip is that it costs you nothing extra! It just requires a little bit of planning and a slight change in habits. Everybody has to buy groceries, gas, and clothes for the kids. There are many ways for you to use Scrip certificates for your needs! The sooner you begin participating, the more our school will benefit. Here's more information on how Scrip works.  Or download this year’s Scrip order form.

Amazon.com Shopping

You can earn money for your CFT PSO when shopping at Amazon.com.  There is no sign-up required.  All you have to do is click the button below to get to Amazon.  Amazon will automatically pay your CFT PSO up to 2.4% of your purchase.  Once you’ve clicked the button below, you can bookmark the resulting page and use that bookmark to return to Amazon.com for later shopping.  Lastly, you can share the link to Amazon by sending your friends and family by sending them the following link:  http://shopping.escrip.com/click/5400/7337/amazonhome/s1a500068/afsrc=1/sidG8567346 Here is some additional information about the program.  What if we already have our own affiliate with Amazon? That's great, and you can keep it, but you may want to check your earning rate as with our vast network of groups, using the eScrip Amazon link may earn you more! What is the Amazon.com Shopping Program? The program is a fundraising initiative to earn money for us. By simply clicking on the Amazon button on our website, you will earn funds for us when you shop Amazon! Do I have to be a member of eScrip? No, this fundraising initiative allows us to earn from anyone who shops Amazon from the link. How do I use the Amazon.com Shopping Program? Simply click on the Amazon button on this page or in our email communications. Do I need an Amazon.com account? No - you do not need to register an account with Amazon. Just click through to Amazon from our Amazon button. Is this program secure? Absolutely! All purchases are made through Amazon.com. No account, payment, or order information is collected or processed by us. It's exactly like shopping directly through Amazon.com, except that we receive a percentage of your purchase when you access Amazon through our website. Free to you, invaluable to us! What's the catch? There are no catches and no extra fees. The shopping experience through Amazon.com is exactly the same as it would be if you went to Amazon directly. But if you access Amazon by clicking on the Amazon button on our website, we get a percentage of your purchase. Can I share this program with my friends/family? Absolutely! Anyone can earn funds for us by simply clicking through to Amazon.com from the Amazon button on our site and shopping – so be sure to tell friends and family about this great program from Amazon.com and to start shopping here first! I'm registered with eScrip, do I need to shop Amazon.com from this page? Here, the Amazon link is coded to earn for Charles F Tigard Elementary anonymously, so while we earn the same contribution, it will not be part of your eScrip account. If you would rather earn in your name, you should visit the eScrip Online Mall at www.escrip.com and access Amazon.com from there

About Us

Who we Are -- What We Do

As a parent of a CFT student, you are automatically a member of the PSO.  By working together as a group, we strive to enhance the educational experience for our kids and foster a close-knit school community.  The PSO raises money (see Fundraising tab) to sponsor teacher requests, programs, activities, and events including  field trips, art literacy, book fairs, family night events, a school yearbook & directory, teacher appreciation and much more. But we can’t do it without your help! We encourage all parents to attend as many meetings and events as you can.  Your participation in the events, activities and programs of the PSO will give you an opportunity to get involved in your children’s education and help make CFT a great place to connect, learn and grow!
