Jog-a-thon

The Jog-a-Thon is our primary fundraiser for the year and is a fun day for all involved! The Jog-a-Thon is Friday, October 16, 2015 on the track in front of the school; each grade will run during an assigned 30 minute segment (1 lap=1/8 mile). Students ask friends and family to pledge money (a flat dollar amount or a certain amount per lap) before the run; afterwards, they collect that money and return it to school. Our goal is for each student to collect at least $50. (This goes without saying but please do not allow your child to go door-to-door or ask strangers for pledges). The funds raised will go to the PSO operating budget, which funds classroom and student enrichment activities including all field trips, art literacy, teacher requests, and monthly family fun nights. Our students shine with pride knowing they take part earning money for our school. Students will be eligible to receive prizes based on their submitted donations, from Wildcat Cash for the book fair to class parties to sliming their teachers (Nickelodeon-style) on the stage!.  Wildcat Cash is play money that all students can earn based on how much money they collect for the CFT Jog-a-thon.  Wildcat Cash can be spent exclusively at the December Book Fair. Fundraisers

CFT PSO’s annual budget is funded exclusively through a series of fundraising ventures.  These include several annual events, like Jog-a-thon and Harvest Fest.  While others, like Scrip and Dining Night Out, continue throughout the entire year.

Dining Night Out

CFT and participating local restaurants sponsor a CFT Dining Night Out throughout the year.  Bring the family and the appropriate flyer on the given date and time and CFT PSO will receive a percentage of the profits! We are always looking for additional Dining Night Out ideasEmail us at cftpsoinfo@gmail.com Check the CFT PSO Calendar often and watch for flyers for details about restaurants and dates!

Scrip

"Scrip" are gift cards that CFT PSO purchases at a discount and sells at face value for a profit. The discount ranges from 2% up to 45%. Scrip is used at the store in place of cash, checks or credit cards -- use it just like a gift card.  Scrip is available for seven local grocery stores and over 100 local retailers and restaurants--most likely places you already shop or dine! The best thing about Scrip is that it costs you nothing extra! It just requires a little bit of planning and a slight change in habits. Everybody has to buy groceries, gas, and clothes for the kids. There are many ways for you to use Scrip certificates for your needs! The sooner you begin participating, the more our school will benefit. Scrip Order Form

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering in your children’s classroom and school is a rewarding and helpful way to stay connected to your child’s school experience.  There are many ways to volunteer your time, from taking a shift at a family night event to chairing a committee to serving as the volunteer coordinator. Please review and fill out a volunteer interest form (voluntario formulario de interés) so you can be contacted to help in the areas that interest you most!  Forms can be turned into the office any time throughout the year. Meetings Meeting Schedule and Minutes Monthly PSO meetings are generally scheduled for Friday afternoons at 12:45PM-2:15PM.  We encourage you to come to as many as you can – these meetings are where we decide how we raise money and how we spend it. All PSO meetings are held in the CFT Library unless otherwise posted.  Check the CFT PSO Calendar for the latest meeting announcements. About Us

Who we Are -- What We Do

As a parent of a CFT student, you are automatically a member of the PSO.  By working together as a group, we strive to enhance the educational experience for our kids and foster a close-knit school community.  The PSO raises money (see Fundraising tab) to sponsor teacher requests, programs, activities, and events including  field trips, art literacy, book fairs, family night events, a school yearbook & teacher appreciation and much more. But we can’t do it without your help! We encourage all parents to attend as many meetings and events as you can.  Your participation in the events, activities and programs of the PSO will give you an opportunity to get involved in your children’s education and help make CFT a great place to connect, learn and grow!
